Every year at FUJI ROCK, we strive to reduce our environmental impact while enjoying the event, and we continue to take various actions that contribute to the future of our forests.
Together with our visitors, supporting companies, and the local community, we are "doing what we can, one step at a time." This accumulation of efforts is creating the unique cycle that is characteristic of FUJI ROCK.
In 2025, in addition to resource circulation through paper cup recycling, we also implemented initiatives to connect resources within the venue, such as "bottle-to-bottle" horizontal recycling of PET bottles and reduction of food waste.
Taking that first step to enjoy the festival will lead to the future.
Here are our main initiatives for 2025.
Paper Cups Are Transformed Into Toilet Paper!

Cooperation: BREWDOG, Heineken, Iichiko, JOHNNIE WALKER, Monster Energy
These paper cups were filled with lots of drinks at the venue and used by everyone.
In 2025, with the cooperation of our visitors and supporting companies, we carefully sorted and collected waste, which was then reused as resources.
The collected paper cups go through a recycling process and are transformed into toilet paper to be used at the FUJI ROCK Festival the following year.
The amount collected in 2025 is 1,450 kg. This is equivalent to approximately 4,590 rolls of toilet paper.
Each individual sorting supports the resource recycling within the festival. Thanks to everyone's cooperation, FUJI ROCK's unique "circular system" was realized again last year.

Plastic Bottles Are "Returned To Plastic Bottles."

Cooperation: Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.
With the support of Minamiuonuma City and Yuzawa-machi, we collected sorted plastic bottles at the venue and implemented "horizontal recycling" aimed at resource circulation.
Horizontal recycling is a system that recycles used PET bottles into new PET bottles using them as raw materials. This allows for repeated use while minimizing the loss of resource value.
The amount collected in 2025 is 160 kg. This initiative is supported by the awareness of sorting waste among our visitors.
A new approach is spreading from the FUJI ROCK Festival venue: not just reducing waste, but also connecting it as a resource.

Reducing Food Waste: From Festivals To Local Communities

Cooperation: Niigata Pref. Food Bank Promotion Association
An initiative to reduce food waste, which started in 2024.
With the cooperation of the vendors, we collect some of the leftover food, drinks, and snacks from the venue after closing time and donate them to the Yuzawa-machi Food Bank.
The donated food will be delivered to those in need and to local facilities, and will be put to good use.
The amount of donations projected for 2025 is 1,956.1 kg. This initiative connects the "surplus" generated at the FUJI ROCK Festival venue to supporting someone.
We will continue this activity, which is characteristic of FUJI ROCK and values connections with people and the local community, in addition to music.
