FUJI ROCK is finally celebrating its 10th anniversary! RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, the inaugural headliners, took to the stage on Saturday, heating up the venue with a stunning performance that captivated the audience and captivated the entire anniversary year. And just before the final act, Denki Groove, also a member of the first festival, made their long-awaited return with a live performance. Also performing were SCISSOR SISTERS, the band behind the Red Chili Peppers and hailed as one of the best acts, who even drew in audiences who had never heard of them before, turning the White Stage into a rave venue! KULA SHAKER made a miraculous comeback, and 2MANYDJS, whose audiences filled the Red Marquee until the early hours, danced to their set. A diverse lineup of acts also performed. FRANZ FERDINAND, a young band who had a hugely successful Budokan performance that year, headlined Friday night in their second FUJI ROCK appearance, creating a moving night. Veteran Tokiko Kato also captivated the young audience, likely hearing her for the first time, creating a moment that embodied FUJI ROCK's ability to enjoy a variety of music at once. Other performers who garnered positive reviews included Hiroto & Marcy's new band, The Cro-Magnons, and GNARLS BARKLEY, who are currently enjoying a major breakthrough in the US. And THE STROKES, making their Fuji debut, headlined Sunday in style. They were unusually cheerful, with rumors suggesting the natural beauty of Naeba and the peaceful audience were to blame. Closing the Green Stage just after midnight was HAPPY MONDAYS. Great pun or not? Regardless, they truly livened up the end of the summer festival.
The BOARD WALK, which has been in operation since 2002, saw the completion of a new path this year. Every year the BOARD WALK is decorated with elaborate decorations, giving it a different look during the day and at night. As the performers moved from stage to stage, they were adorned with objects ranging from small, easily overlooked objects to large, eye-catching objects even from afar.
Just before the entrance gate, in a mysterious area that welcomes visitors, a vintage tent called Crystal Palace shone brightly.
Smaller stages such as Kidotei and Naeba Shokudo have also become established, or rather, have already become stages that people look forward to.

One of FUJI ROCK's major initiatives is the environmental aspect, and in collaboration with Global Cool, an international environmental fund established with the aim of preventing global warming, the festival has designated Friday, July 28th as "Global Cool Day" and will be running various CO2 emission reduction campaigns throughout the three days of the festival. Fuji Collection, which was launched last year, has also welcomed new partners, further expanding the scope of FUJI ROCK's expression.
