In 2014, the weather was generally good, with the exception of a few showers. Arcade Fire, who everyone had been waiting for, finally made their first appearance at Naeba as a headliner, joining Franz Ferdinand and Jack Johnson. They've always been one of the must-see acts at FUJI ROCK in recent years, and their captivating performance captivated everyone in attendance.

On Friday, the weather was perfect for a summer holiday and the air was crisp and refreshing, with a performance by ROUTE 17 Rock'n'Roll ORCHESTRA, the band that has become synonymous with FUJI ROCK. Motoharu Sano performed a perfect reproduction of "Visitors," and Denki Groove heated up the venue with their fantastic direction and performance. Franz Ferdinand then carried on the heat, delivering the best performance they could give at the time, with smiles on their faces as they joined the audience.

On Saturday, the psychedelic and funk groove of The Heavy, who gained a lot of attention in Japan thanks to their Pepsi commercial, rang out, and it wasn't just Arcade Fire who drew attention. Also appearing were Ulfuls, who made a full comeback after a four-and-a-half-year hiatus, and Damon Albarn, frontman of the British folk band Blur. The lineup included a lineup that drew attention from all over the world.

After two days of midsummer weather, the final day arrived amidst ominous clouds. Despite the mountain weather and rain that came and went, Ozomatli warmed up the venue, responding to the fully prepared audience who remained unfazed and eager to enjoy the day. Finally, The Stripes, making their FUJI ROCK debut on the Green Stage, and The Flaming Lips, captivating everyone with their unique, dreamlike performance, were followed by Jack Johnson, who transformed the pouring rain into a performance that brought the venue together with a peaceful performance.

Aiming for the coexistence of music and nature, FUJI ROCK has been working on various environmental initiatives since its inception. Many people have participated in and supported "FUJI ROCK Forest," a project to protect the forest environment surrounding the venue, in various ways, including boardwalk camps and the on-site kids' land. The festival also provides a stage for the anti-nuclear, anti-nuclear event "The Atomic Cafe," providing an opportunity to consider switching to natural energy. Fuji Rock also introduced eco-friendly tableware, separating waste and turning it into recyclable SHOP for use at the venue the following year. As a result, with the cooperation of attendees, the festival has earned worldwide recognition as a clean festival.

As part of the Great East Japan Earthquake Reconstruction Support Project "Benefit for NIPPON," we once again collected donations to support the victims with the cooperation of our attendees. Many people generously donated to the donation boxes placed inside and outside the venue during the event. We also held a charity auction for three chairs signed by the ARTISTS performing on the FUJI ROCK GREEN STAGE each day. The FUJI ROCK Festival festival has remitted the donations received from everyone, along with the total amount won in the charity auction, as detailed below.
