If there was one event that symbolized FUJI ROCK'09, it would have to be Kiyoshiro Imawano.
Following his sudden death in May 2009, a tribute band featuring Japanese and international ARTISTS with ties to Kiyoshiro Imawano appeared on the Green Stage. Kiyoshiro Imawano was a regular at FUJI ROCK, bringing back fond memories and moving experiences for countless audiences. His live shows are etched in the hearts of countless audiences. And it was all the audience and ARTISTS who loved him so much who created this grand final party. We'd like to thank Kiyoshiro Imawano's Special Message Orchestra, NICE MIDDLE with New Blue Day Horns. The events of this night will remain forever in the hearts of all audience members.

Oasis returned to FUJI ROCK, their FUJI ROCK appearance since FRF'01, and many cheered in delight.
Although they captivated the audience with their fantastic live performance, one month later, core member Noel announced his departure, effectively ending Oasis. Ironically, their 2009 performance at the Green Stage was their last in Japan. For now, the future of the Gallagher brothers remains unclear, but we can't help but hope to see them perform at that venue again someday.

WEEZER, who were scheduled to perform at the very first FUJI ROCK(the second day was cancelled due to a typhoon), finally made their first appearance at FUJI ROCK. I'm sure there were many people who watched their live performance on this day, remembering back to those days.
And to close out the three days (four days if you include the Pre-Party), the world's strongest dance group, Basement Jaxx, took to the stage. Their performance, which transformed the Green Stage into a giant dance floor, was truly a spectacular show.

Cafe de Paris replaces CABARET FIESTA, a Mexican cabaret that opened in 2008 and was a huge hit, attracting many customers. Its image is inspired by the historic Moulin Rouge cabaret in Paris, and many customers once again enjoyed the mysterious and noisy world of the cabaret.

The only disappointment was the cancellation of All Night Fuji. FUJI ROCK just for this, but due to the extremely bad weather, it was forced to be cancelled for safety reasons. This year, we were reminded once again of the environment we find ourselves in, surrounded by nature.

FUJI ROCK, which promotes the coexistence of nature and music, is also committed to environmental conservation.
In addition to the familiar Zero Waste Navigation and the introduction of biodiesel power generation, the festival also held a campaign to raise awareness of clean energy, calling for people to "power their bicycles and keep playing the FUJI ROCK theme song 'Inaka e Ikou' (Kiyoshiro Imawano)." Following on from last year's personal bottles, the festival is also selling personal chopsticks as official SHOP, and is working to popularize original environmental SHOP. Furthermore, by supporting grassroots activities such as inviting exhibitors to the NGO Village within the venue, the festival is providing an opportunity for visitors to think together about global environmental issues.

We've always encouraged our patrons to "Do it yourself" and "Don't cause trouble for others," but we've taken this a step further with a new etiquette campaign. This campaign aims to ensure that everyone can enjoy FUJI ROCK in a pleasant environment, and that all participants work together to create a better FUJI ROCK. FUJI ROCK Festival is a festival where performers, attendees, and staff can freely enjoy music and nature, and where everyone can create it together. We reaffirmed our policy and called for better etiquette and encouraged a constructive participation mindset.
